Ayurveda department official arrested for taking bribe from senior Ayurveda doctor

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested an assistant administrative officer of the Ayurveda department, identified as Pawan Kumar Sharma after he was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 15,000 from an Ayurveda doctor in Srigangangar. The accused officer was demanding the bribe for facilitating Assured Career Progression and salary fixation. The accused officer has been arrested. ACB officials said that further investigation is going on.

According to ACB officials, Senior Ayurveda doctor Govardhan Lal is posted in Sadulshahar of Sriganganagar. He approached the ACB and registered a complaint against Sharma.

“He said the accused officer was demanding bribe for salary fixation and ACP. Initially, he was demanding Rs 30,000 from him. We verified the complaint and when it was found genuine, a trap was laid,” said an ACB officer.

Sharma was allegedly caught taking Rs 15,000. He was arrested and booked under various section of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The bribe amount was seized after the trap. The ACB was searching his office, residence and other places belonging to him till the reports last came in. He will be produced in a court.
