New Jaipur police commissioner Anand Srivastava

Jaipur: Police commissioner Anand Srivastava on Wednesday suspended SHO of Bhramapuri police station Bharat Singh Rathore after he was accused of not registering an FIR in a murder case. The matter came to light when industries minister Parsadilal Meena approached UDH minister Shanti Dhariwal during a public grievance addressal meeting on Tuesday. Dhariwal asked the commissioner to register the FIR in the matter.

Meean alleged that Bhrahmapuri police station SHO was not lodging the case of a murder of a woman. The woman, daughter of one Sanwarmal who belongs to Bamanwas area of Sawaimadhour district – the home constituency of Meena – lived in Jaisinghpura Khor in Jaipur. She was found dead under mysterious circumstances recently. After consigning her body to flames, her father went to Brahmapuri police station to lodge an FIR, but the SHO asked him to approach Bamanwas police station. When the father went to Bamanwas police station, he was asked to go back to Brahmapuri police station for the registration of FIR. The father then approached the MLA Meena.

Meena himself went to the public grievance addressal meeting being organized by Shanti Dhariwal and complained about it. After Dhariwal’s intervention, police commissioner Anand Srivastava suspended the SHO and asked the officials to lodge the FIR. The investigation has been handed over to ACP Amer Brijendra Singh Bhati.
