Airlines employee commits suicide in Jaipur, police rules out foul play

The woman had been skipping office for the past two days.

Jaipur: A 25-year-old air hostess identfied as Pavitra allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her rented house in Jaipur’s Jawahar Nagar area on Friday. She was working with Indo-Thai Airlines, police officials said.

The woman lived in Sarsvati Nagar near Jawahar Circle.

The landlord knocked on her door when she didn’t come out of the room till late morning. When she didn’t response, he got suspicious and peeked into the room through a window. He spotted her hanging. He called up the police. A team from Jawahar Nagar police station rushed to the spot and got the body down. The body was sent for a postmortem examination.

A team of forensic experts was also called to the spot.

Pavitra is a resident of Gangtok (east) in Sikkim, police said.

The police have informed the family members and launched an investigation to acertain what caused her to take the extreme step.

The woman had taken leave and was not going to office for the past two days.

According to preliminary report, she was working as a customer service officer at Jaipur International Airport in Sanganer. His brother is in police force in Sikkim.

The police have sealed the room and said that the postmortem examination of the body will be conducted in the presence of her family members.
