ACB trap: JMC parshad Suman Gujjar arrested for taking Rs 1 lakh bribe

Jaipur: The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested parshad (JMC corporator) of ward number – 39 Suman Gujjar after she was allegedly caught taking a bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh from a contractor.

Suman Gujjar was demanding the bribe from a contractor for getting the bills of the work done in his ward approved for payment. The woman corporator has been booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further investigation is going on.

The ACB had received a complaint against the parshard following which a trap was laid. The complaint had already been verified by the ACB.

“She was arrested when she was taking a total bribe of Rs 1.25 lakh from the complainant. Rs 50,000 was in form of cash, while Rs 75,000 in form of a cheque,” said an ACB officer.

The trap was organized by the SIU unit of the ACB’s Jaipur branch. The trap was organized by CI Hemant Verma.

“She will be produced in a court soon. Searches are being carried out at her residence, office and other places. Further investigation is going on,” said an ACB officer.
