ACB arrests 2 Rajasthan Housing Board officials for taking bribe

Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested an administrative officer and office assistant of Rajasthan Housing Board (RHB) after they were caught taking bribe. The trap happened at the RHB office located in Indira Gandhi Nagar of the city.

Those trapped were identified as administrative officer RK Meena and office assistant Mohan Singh. They were caught taking a bribe of Rs 30,000. The accused had demanded bribe from the complainant in return for sending the file to the Registrar for the registry of the house allotted by RHB.

ACB said that the complainant Babulal Sharma had bought two houses of Rajasthan Housing Board from Ajay Mathur and Vishnu Sharma. The houses were to be registered to enable to Babulal to sell the houses. Babulal approached the two officials who demanded Rs 30,000 to approve the file for registration.

Babulal approached the ACB following a complaint was registered. The complaint was investigated and when it was found to be genuine, a trap was laid.

DG ACB BL Soni said that after receiving the complaint, it was verified under the supervision of the Additional Superintendent of Police, Special Unit I, Rajendra Singh Nain. Both the officials were booked under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Searches were conducted at the residences, offices and other places belonging to the two accuse officials. Further investigation is going on.
