Jaipur: Ace shooter Apurvi Chandela receives warm welcome on her return after winning gold medal

Jaipur: Jaipur girl and ace shooter Apurvi Chandela reached the Pink City from Delhi on Thursday. As it was her first visit to Jaipur after setting the world record in the women’s 10-meter rifle competition at ISSF World Cup on February 23, she was welcomed by a huge crowd of city residents, family members and friends at Jaipur International Airport.

As soon as Apurvi walked out of the airport, people offered her flowers, sweets, and garlands.

Not only family members, relatives, and local residents, but politicians also lined up at the airport to congratulate Apurvi, who made the city proud by winning the gold medal and setting a world record in the women’s 10-meter rifle competition at ISSF World Cup 2019.

Apurvi’s family members’ faces were filled with joy and proud when they saw their daughter coming out of the airport wearing a Gold medal around her neck.

The family members and city residents took out a road show. Apurvi was escorted to the Youth Hostel. A felicitation program was conducted at the hostel to honor and congratulate Apurvi Chandela for her achievement.

In September, Apurvi hogged the headlines when she qualified for the Tokyo Olympics 2020 along with Anjum Moudgil from Chandigarh. They became the first set of Indian shooters to secure two quota places for the Tokyo Olympics in a Women’s 10-meter air rifle.

Apurvi won a Gold medal in the Commonwealth games of 2014 at Glasgow. Her father Kuldeep Singh Chandela is an hotelier.
