1 student killed, 25 others injured as school bus overturns in Pali

Jaipur: A child was killed while nearly 25 others were injured when the school bus they were travelling in overturned in Jojavar village near Dhanla in Pali district on Thursday.
The injured children were rushed to a hospital in Pali where they are undergoing treatment. Senior police and administration officers reached the spot. An investigation to ascertain what caused the bus to overturn has been launched, police officials said.
The bus belonged to a private school. According to preliminary reports, the students of Naveen Bal Vidhya Mandir were on their way to school. The bus was carrying nearly 35 children.
After the bus overturned, the local residents informed the police following which police and administration officers rushed to the spot and a rescue operation was launched. A medical team also arrived there to provide first aid to children who were injured in the mishap.
One of the children who were injured died due to serious injuries , while nearly 25 others were rushed to a local hospital. They were referred to another hospital in Pali.
The police are investigating if the bus driver was overspeeding. They said that a strict action will be taken against him if he was found negligent.
Former minister Vasundhara Raje expressed grief over the incident.
