Jaipur: Rajasthan Urban Development and Housing (UDH) minister Shanti Dhariwal announced that two underpasses at Jawahar Lal Nehru (JLN) Marg will be constructed to limit the congestion on this one of the busiest roads of Jaipur.

Dhariwal made the announcement after a meeting with Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) officials on Friday.

“Underpasses at JLN Marg are the need of the hour to control traffic jam in the city. The work will be started soon after some legal and financial formalities are completed,” said Dhariwal.

Also, the UDH minister monitored and reviewed progress of several projects launched during the previous BJP government including Ram Niwas underground parking.

He suggested that a multilevel parking facility should be constructed at Johari Bazaar and also the parking area of Ram Niwas Bagh should be expanded which will connect Ramlila ground through a subway. These measures will reduce traffic jams in the Walled City.
