Priest cuts off his genitals in Alwar
A 34-year-old priest, identified as Anil Purohit, cut off his genitals in front of a crowd of more than 350 devotees in an asharam at Mandhan in Barhror area of Alwar district on Friday. He was disappointed over the rape cases being registered against self-professed godmen in the country.

Jaipur: A 34-year-old priest, identified as Anil Purohit, cut off his genitals in front of a crowd of more than 350 devotees in an asharam at Mandhan in Barhror area of Alwar district on Friday. He was disappointed over the rape cases being registered against self-professed godmen in the country.
A discussion over this was going on in the congregation of devotees. He became so agitated over the discussion that he cut off his genitals. He fell unconsciousness due to excessive bleeding and pain and fell to the ground. He was later referred to a hospital in Jaipur where he is undergoing treatment.
Anil Purohit is the manhant (chief priest) at Siddha Seva Dham in Alwar district. On Friday, there were more than 350 devotees in the ashram. A discussion started over rape cases being registered against self-proclaimed godman in the country. Anil Purohit became so agitated over this that he cut off his genitals with a blade in front of the devotees.
He started bleeding severely. The devotees rushed him to a hospital in Neemrana and then referred to a private hospital in Jaipur. He is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is stated to be stable.
A rape case was recently registered against Daati Maharaj. A Delhi police team searched his ashram in Pali district after a woman alleged that she was raped by him and his disciples two years ago. Daat Maharaj couldn’t be found at the ashram.
