5 of family killed as van collides with truck in Nagaur

Jaipur: The five members of a family including two couples and a 14-year-old girl were killed while 3 others were seriously injured when the van, they were travelling in, collided with a truck in Kuchaman City area of Nagaur district on Saturday night. The Churu-based family was on its way to Ajmer to offer prayers at Dargarh when the mishap occurred. The police have handed over the bodies to family members after a postmortem examination.

Those who died were identified as Ismail (55), his wife Zarina (47), brother Mohammed Hussain (50), brother’s wife Naseem (45), and Mohammed’s daughter Nazmeen. Ismail’s two daughters Muskan and Tammana, while Mohammed Hussain’s daughter Aksha were injured in the mishap.

Chief minister Ashok Gehlot expressed condolences over the incident and said that the officials have been instructed to provide all possible medical help to treat the injured victims.

In another mishap, a truck rammed into a stationed bus on Dausa-Manoharpur National Highway in Dausa district. Two men – the driver and the helper were killed. The bus was carrying pilgrims from Agra who were going to Khatushyam Ji temple. Eight pilgrims were injured in the incident. The bus was parked on the roadside as it had a flat tire. The driver and helper were identified as Vedprakash (30) and Nitin Mittal (28) respectively.
