3 people on way to attend RLP rally killed, 10 injured in road accident

JAIPUR: In an accident on National Highway-68, three people were killed while 10 others, including eight supporters of a political party, were seriously injured.

The collision occurred when a Scorpio carrying workers heading to attend a rally organized by Hanuman Beniwal’s Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) crashed into an oncoming car.

The identities of the deceased victims remain unknown at this time, while the injured have been rushed to the district hospital for immediate medical attention.

The accident transpired near Mangta village, as the Scorpio, traveling from Barmer towards Dhorimanna, attempted to overtake another vehicle.

The car involved in the collision was en route from Gujarat to Barmer via National Highway 68, carrying several passengers from Gujarat.

Two individuals in the car sustained injuries alongside the fatal casualties. The car had a total of five occupants, while the Scorpio was carrying a total of eight supporters en route to the RLP rally.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a police team arrived at the scene, encountering a chaotic situation.

Local bystanders assisted in transporting the injured victims to Dhorimanna Hospital using an ambulance and a private vehicle. Medical professionals at the hospital pronounced three individuals dead, while the ten seriously injured victims were referred to the district hospital after receiving initial medical aid.

A police officer said, “Preliminary reports indicate that the collision occurred between the black Scorpio and the oncoming car. It has been confirmed that eight supporters were traveling in the Scorpio, intending to attend the RLP rally.”
