Jaipur: A 21-year-old man identified as Sushil Meena died when an overspeeding car hit his bike on JLN Road in Jaipur early on Monday. Sushil was the son of assistant sub inspector Nemi Chand Meena who is posted in the DCP, east office in Jaipur. Sushil was staying in government police quarters in Gandhi Nagar and was preparing for competitive exams.

Sushil was on his way home from Rajapark around 3 am on Monday when the mishap occurred on JLN Marg.

The car was approaching JLN Marg from Gandhi Circle near Rajasthan University campus.

“The car rear-ended his bike and dragged it for nearly 20 feet. We suspect that the car was overspeeding. The driver left the car on the spot as it was badly damaged and escaped. We are trying to identify the car owner on the basis of registration number. An FIR has been registered against him,” said a police officer.

The body was handed over to the family members after a post-mortem examination. Further investigation is on.

Overspeeding has been a major cause for frequent road accidents on JLN Marg. The traffic police department has installed CCTVs to catch overspeeding vehicles on the road and home deliver traffic challans for various violations, but the measure hasn’t had any major impact apparently.
