20 cops test positive for COVID-19 in Rajasthan police headquarters (PHQ)

Jaipur: At least 20 policemen including an officer of additional director general (ADG) rank tested positive for COVID-19 in police headquarters on Friday. Nearly 100 samples had been taken from PHQ a few days ago. In the report, at least 20 were found infected with Coronavirus, according to preliminary reports. The entire building is being sanitized after the virus spread in PHQ came to light.
The senior police officer who tested positive had come to office three days ago. The fact that so many policemen have tested positive for the virus in a random sampling has once again raised worries that the virus is spreading at an alarming rate in the city.
In Jaipur, 115 people were found infected with COVID-19 in 12 hours till Friday morning.
The number of positive cases in Jaipur has reached 14116. Of them, 8750 have been discharged from hospital after treatment.
The fear that some areas of the city including Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar, Jhotwara and Sanganer has entered the phase of community transmission are being raised. However, senior medical and health officials refuted this.
Rajasthan reported 1640 cases on Thursday, the highest in a single day. Of them, 329 were reported in Jaipur alone. The total number of positive cases has gone up to 97376 in the state. the virus has claimed 14 lives, taking the death toll to 1192.
