2 Barmer residents arrested for spying for Pakistan

JAIPUR: Pakistani intelligence agency ISI employs female agents to obtain sensitive information from locals through honey trapping and bribery. Rajasthan police’s Intelligence Bureau has arrested two individuals for spying for Pakistan after being honey trapped and bribed. The agencies are conducting further investigations.
Ratan Khan, a resident of Dharavi Kala, Barmer district, has been visiting Pakistan since 2012, allegedly for family reasons. However, the police believe he received training from ISI to transmit information through social media. He has been detained and is currently being interrogated by multiple agencies.
Shobhala Jetmal, a home guard, reportedly sent information, photos, and videos of oil mining companies in the Barmer district to an ISI contact under the influence of a honeytrap. he has been in touch with a female ISI agent since 2016 and has shared photos and videos on several occasions.
Both suspects have received funds from Pakistan, and the Intelligence team is conducting thorough interrogations. Further investigations have revealed that some other locals might also be involved in similar activities.
