JAIPUR: Another student preparing for the NEET examination has committed suicide in Kota.

The 19-year-old, identified as Farid, had moved to Kota from West Bengal a year ago to attend coaching classes. His body was found hanging in his room on Monday evening around 7 PM, according to local police. The body has since been placed in the mortuary of the MBS Hospital. The reasons for the suicide are yet to be disclosed.

Farid was living in a rented house in the Dadabari police station area of Kota. On the day of the incident, Farid had attended coaching classes and had lunch with his friends.

When Farid did not emerge from his room at 7 PM, the other students living with him called out to him. Upon receiving no response, they informed the landlord, and the police were also called to the scene. The room’s door was broken down, where Farid was found hanging. He was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead.

This marks the 26th suicide in Kota this year, which has raised concerns about the mental health of students in the coaching hub. The state government had previously formed a committee to investigate the suicides of coaching students, which pointed out several key factors contributing to these tragic incidents.
