Jaipur: Nineteen doctors were suspended in the state for not assuming duty after completing post-graduation (PG). On the directions of state health minister Rajendra Singh Rathore, the public health director Dr BR Meena wrote to the register of the Rajasthan Medical Council and suspended the doctors. The suspension will be in effect for the next three months.
The government had warned of a strict action against the doctors who were not joining duty after completing PG.
According to the medical department officials, two orders, one on August 17 and another on September 21 were issued, asking post graduates to assume duty.
“These 19 doctors have not joined office in violation of these two orders. We issued warning that an action would be taken in the matter, but they didn’t pay heed. Now MBBS and PG registration of these 19 doctors will remain suspended for the next three months,” said an officer.
