Jaipur: Though the two-week lockdown with more stringent restrictions came into effect in Jaipur and across the state on Monday, the people were seen violating lockdown guidelines.

There were crowds of people outside grocery and vegetable shops with shoppers flouting social distancing guidelines. Most people were however wearing masks. The streets wore a deserted look, but the violation of social distancing at shops is still a great cause for concern for the local administration.

The lockdown will be in effect till 5 am on May 24. The government has put a ban on wedding functions. Wedding rituals can be organized inside homes with a maximum attendance of 11 guests. Court marriages with the same number of guests can also be organized. The family will need to provide information about the function on covidinfo.rajasthan.gov.in. Cooks, decorators, DJs, or any other person will not be allowed to attend the weddings. All marriage gardens, marriage halls, and hotels have been closed for wedding functions. Even home deliveries for weddings are not allowed.

The liquor shops will remain open from 6 am to 11 am. The movement of people will not be allowed between cities, and from a city to a village or vice-versa, except in emergency situations.

Grocery shops are allowed to open from 6 am to 11 am. Vegetables and food venders can operate from 6 am to 5 pm.

In Jaipur, the people thronged grocery shops in many markets early in the morning.
