10-year-old boy drowns in Amanishah Nullah while chasing kites

Jaipur: A 10-year-old boy identified as Ravi Son fell into Amanishah nullah (Dravyavati River) while chasing kites in the city on Monday. His body was fished out by a civil defense team. He had died by the time he was pulled out of the drain.
The child, Ravi Soni, was a native of Shashti Nagar area. His father Yogesh Soni and others started searching for the child when he didn’t return home. The incident took place around 4pm, according to police officials.
“The child was playing with friends near his house. He suddenly disappeared. As per the preliminary investigation, he spotted a snapped kite and started chasing it. He fell into Amanishah Nullah and drowned,” said a police officer.
Senior police and administration officers rushed to the spot when they were informed about the family members. A rescue team was roped in to find the child. After his body was found, he was rushed to Kanwatia Hospital in Shashtri Nagar. He was declared brought dead.
