Jaipur: One man died, while at least 25 others were injured when a Rajasthan Roadways bus rammed into a mini bus at Government Hostel Junction in Jaipur around 1 am on Thursday. The majority of the victims were travelling in the mini bus which was returning to Jaipur carrying members of a family. They were returning home after attending a wedding ritual in Srimadhopur town in Sikar district, according to police.
The accident occurred around 1 am. Police officials said that the Rajasthan Roadways bus left the Sindhi Camp bus stand and was approaching Government Hostel Junction from Chomu House Circle. The mini bus was on its way to Jawahar Nagar from Ganpati Plaza. The Rajasthan Roadways bus rammed into the mini bus. The mini bus was completely damaged. The bus driver escaped from the spot after the accident.
The man who died in the accident was identified as Tara Chand, a resident of Jawahar Nagar slum area.
Many people were got stuck in the bus. A police team smashed the windows of the bus in order to pull the victims.
“The condition of at least 3-4 people is critical. We have launched an investigation into the matter. We are trying to ascertain what caused the accident,” said the officer. The police have seized both the vehicles.
