YouTuber sets himself on fire on police station premises in Jaipur; dies

Jaipur: A man who ran a popular YouTube channel on farming, poured petrol on his body and set himself on fire on the premises of Kardhani police station in Jaipur. He died while undergoing treatment on Friday afternoon.
The police conducted a postmortem examination and handed over the body to his relatives. They registered the case based on a statement given by the victim to the police. ACP (Bagru) Anil Sharma is leading the investigation.
The deceased, Vikas Sharma (40), was a farmer from Hardatpura village and ran a YouTube channel called Farming Hindi Advice. He told the police that his family members had evicted him from their property, leading to disputes between them. On Thursday, Vikas obtained a stay order from a court regarding the property and approached the Jhotwara ACP around 6 pm, who asked him to see Kardhani SHO in the matter.
Based on the court order, the police restrained both parties. It is believed that Vikas had a dispute with his uncles after the intervention of the police on Thursday. On Thursday evening, Vikas returned to the police station premises around 8:30 pm and poured petrol on himself. He then set himself on fire. The police managed to extinguish the fire and admitted him to SMS Hospital, where he passed away during treatment on Friday.
