{"id":9863,"date":"2022-08-11T14:40:51","date_gmt":"2022-08-11T09:10:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/?p=9863"},"modified":"2022-08-11T14:41:22","modified_gmt":"2022-08-11T09:11:22","slug":"only-regular-students-to-contest-ru-elections-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/only-regular-students-to-contest-ru-elections-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Only regular students to contest RU elections 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>JAIPUR: In a decision that is not likely to go down well with the student unions, the Rajasthan University (RU) administration will allow only regular students to contest the RU student union elections 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision was taken in the university syndicate meeting. It was decided that the students of the second and fourth semesters of a postgraduate department will be eligible to participate in the student union elections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the constituent colleges, the regular students of the first and second year in 2021-22 would be eligible. \u00a0At the same time, all the students studying in the first year 2022-23 will be eligible to participate in the student union elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some other decisions are as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>the regular students of the first, second year of law college who have appeared in the examination in 2021-22 will be eligible to participate in the student union elections.<\/li><li>All the students studying in the five-year law college will be eligible to participate.<\/li><li>A student studying in the tenth semester will not be able to contest elections in the five-year college. He can only exercise his right to vote. Though he will be able to contest election for Rajasthan University Apex Body.<\/li><li>if a student studying in the final year of graduation and post-graduation contest elections, he or she must continue to be enrolled as a regular student in the academic year of 2022-23. If he or she is not a regular student of the university in 2022-23 due to any reason, he or she wouldn\u2019t be able to hold the post even after a victory.<\/li><li>A student can contest the election in Rajasthan University while his examination result is still pending. But if he doesn\u2019t pass the exam according to the rules, he wouldn\u2019t be able to hold the post.<\/li><li>the candidate will also have to attach an affidavit attesting that they would comply with all the rules to contest the election.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, ABVP launched a protest demanding that all students must have the right to vote and contest elections. Some student union leaders had even climbed on a water tank. The RU admiration officials assured them that their demands would be met, but in the syndicate meeting, the administration took a U-turn.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ABVP
