Jaipur: \u00a0The Rajasthan government has received 198 applications from students who want to study at reputed universities and educational institutes abroad. The government had invited applications under the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme. The government will select the students based on their academic records and bear the cost of their study abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The scheme was launched last year, but due to the lack of awareness, only 100 students had applied. The government received 198 applications this year. The government aims to send at least 200 students from the state abroad for higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe students can apply to study in any of the 150 foreign universities and educational institutes such as Oxford, Stanford, Howard, California University, University of Cambridge and Princeton. If selected, the government would provide scholarship,\u201d said an officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The students from families with an annual income of less than 8 lakh get 100% scholarship (up to Rs 12 lakh) in additional to the tuition fee, while those from families with an annual income ranging from 8 lakh to Rs 25 lakh get 100% scholarship for the tuition fee, while 50% of other expenses (up to Rs 10 lakh). The students from families with an annual income of more than Rs 25 lakh will only get scholarship for the tuition fee, said the officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
