The agency registered 156 cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act during this period. Of them, 150 were trap cases, while five cases were related to the amassment of disproportionate wealth. One case was related to the misuse of office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2021, the ACB registered a total of 141 cases during the same period. In 130 cases, public service employees were trapped, while four were related to the amassment of disproportionate wealth. Seven cases were related to the misuse of office. In 2020, the total number of cases registered under the PC Act was only 65.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACB is not only trapping more corrupt employees but also ensuring quick disposal of these cases in courts. ACB officials said that the agency filed chargesheet in 144 cases in the first four months of this year, while Final Reports (FR) were submitted in 22 cases. In 2021, chargesheet was filed in 101 cases, while FR was submitted in 15 cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An ACB officer said that the growing popularity of the agency\u2019s helpline numbers &#8211; 1064 and 9413502834 (WhatsApp) &#8211; has contributed to the increase in trap cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMany officials and their middlemen were trapped after receiving complaints about them through the helpline numbers. We are grateful to people for trusting us.
