Shortly after arresting the Chief Executive Officer of Biofuel Authority in Jaipur, the agency has arrested a transport inspector along with nine middlemen for extorting money from truck drivers in Alwar district. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These men were allegedly accepting bribes from truck drivers. The ACB seized a cash amount of Rs 12 lakh in searches conducted after the raid at a tax collection centre of the transport department in Shahjanhpur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to ACB officials, the tax centre had been under surveillance for the past three months. The ACB team members conducted a recce of the centre posing as truck drivers and helpers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday, an ACB officer posing as a truck driver reached the centre. A guard of the centre walked to him and demanded money. The ACB official handed over currency notes for the trap. Then, searches were carried out at the centre. Rs 84,000 were recovered from transport inspector Ravindra Singh Bhati and other people, the ACB officer said. There was a cabin adjacent to the transport check post where a middleman, identified as Ravindra Chouhan was found in possession of an unaccounted cash amount of Rs 2.06 lakh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACB then carried out searches at the house of Chouhan where a cash amount of Rs 8.35 lakh was recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have arrested transport inspector Ravindra Singh Bhati and 10 other people who worked as a middleman for extorting money from truck drivers,\u201d said the ACB officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACB had earlier arrested CEO of Biofuel Authority Surendra Singh Rathore and a middleman for demanding Rs 20 lakh bribe from the complainant in lieu of allowing his business to run in an uninterrupted manner and also for renewal of license.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) is cracking down on corruption.
