Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the kite sellers reported a record sale of kites and manjha. They say that kites and manjha worth nearly Rs 25 crore were sold in the city over the past few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The weather is also likely to be favourable. According to the bulletin issued by Jaipur Meteorological Center for Makar Sankranti, the wind will blow lightly which would make kite flying enjoyable. It could be a cloudy day after noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director of Jaipur Meteorological Center Radhe Shyam Sharma said that the weather will be clear and there may be light clouds in the afternoon. The wind speed will be low, which will be suitable for kite flying. Similarly, the wind direction is likely to be from North to South and North to South-West. The maximum day temperature can go up to 20 degree Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere has been an increase up to 50% in prices of kites and manjha (string). Despite this, there had been a lot of shopping for kites. It shows that the people are planning to stay indoors to fly kites which will be a good thing during this Covid-19 pandemic,\u201d said Ram Mohan Sharma, a kite seller in Haldiyon Ka Rasta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that kites and manjha from Uttar Pradesh is sold in Rajasthan every year, but there has been a decrease in production due to the Covid-19 situation. Due to this, only 40% of the stock reached the state. This caused the prices to go up,\u201d said Sharma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mohan Kumawat, a Sodala resident, was looking forward to flying kites. \u201cI enjoyed kite flying on Thursday.
