Jaipur: A group of 35 engineer students has vowed to save stray animals and birds by providing them food and shelter. These students of Poornima Group of Colleges have launched the \u2018\u2018FEED-O-HABIT\u2019 campaign that will run for 365 days. The campaign that was launched on September 15 when the world celebrated Engineers Day will run till September 14, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This group calls itself Helping Hands. The students of the group had earlier launched a campaign to help Covid-19 patients and their family members. Now they have taken it upon themselves to save birds and animals. Ritik Banger, treasurer of Helping Hands said that every year hundreds of animals are killed due to hunger and thirst. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn such a situation, it is our responsibility to save animals and birds. With this idea, the Feed-O-Habit campaign was started. The theme is to make feeding stray animals and dogs a habit,\u201d said Banger.
Shubham Toshniwal, secretary of Helping Hands said that the citizens and organizations are welcome to join the Feed-O-Habit campaign so that we can help as many animals and birds as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Helping Hands is a group of energetic BTech students of the Poornima Group of Colleges. The group aims to help those in need and spread awareness in the community. It also works towards environmental protection and health awareness. The initiative was launched in 2011 by Vikash Bajiya. Various events and activities are organized by the group on a regular basis. They include blood donation camps, shared birthday projects and visits to old age homes, slums and orphanages.
The group recently helped more than 1350 people in need during the Covid-19 epidemic. Under its Covid Drive campaign, the verified information of hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, plasma, and food was made available to Covid-19 patients and their family members. The team led by coordinators Purvi Dadli and Anubha Gupta worked for more than 16 hours a day to ensure that appropriate information was made available to the needy at the earliest. This effort of Helping Hands was appreciated by Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot and actor Manoj Bajpayee.
Also, the Shared Birthday Project initiative of the group is creating smiles by celebrating the birthday of hundreds of orphans once every year with cakes, gifts, and games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
