He had been admitted to COVID-19 isolation centre in the hospital after he complained of difficulty in breathing. According to preliminary reports, the man tested negative for the virus. The police are investigating if he took the extreme step due to the virus scare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The elderly man, identified as Kailash Chand Sharma, was a resident of Jagdamba Nagar in Niwaru Road area in Jhotwara. He was suffering from some respiratory illness following which he was being kept in institutional quarantine at RUHS. On Wednesday, the man came out of his hospital ward and jumped out of a window from the second floor the hospital. The security guard heard a loud thud and rushed to the spot. He was brought to the ICU of the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. District collector Antar Singh Nehra rushed to the hospital to enquire about the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COVID-19 continues to spread in the state. On Wednesday, 659 new cases were reported. The total number of positive cases has gone up to 22063. There are over 4715 active cases now. The death toll has also gone up to 482.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jaipur reported 67 new cases. Of them, 14 were reported in Jhotwara, while 11 in Malviya Nagar.
