Jaipur: Millions of Jaipurites paid tribute to Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan who passed away on Wednesday. Originally hailing from Rajasthan, the actor had spent his childhood and adolescence in Jaipur. He went on to receive international acclaim with his remarkable roles in award winning Hollywood movies – “Life Of Pi” and “Slumdog Millionaire”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The actor was born in a village near Tonk town of the state. Irrfan Khan did his graduation from Jaipur where he developed a liking for theatre and drama. According to people close to him in Jaipur, he was very introvert and shy in nature during his childhood, but he was definitely a rebel. He was a cricket fan during his childhood and used to play at Chaugan Stadium in Jaipur with his friends. He wanted to be a cricketer, a passion which his family members didn’t approve. Eventually, he started drama and participated in many plays in the theatres of Jaipur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After completing graduation from Jaipur, he\nenrolled himself in National School of Drama. Her mother wanted him to become a\nprofessor. Irrfan lied to his mother and told her that he would fulfil her wish\nafter graduating from NSD. When he was in the third year, he was signed for a\nlead role in a movie by Mira Nair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted,\n\u201cI am saddened and shocked to know about untimely demise of one of our country\u2019s\nmost versatile actors #IrrfanKhan. My heartfelt condolences to his family,\nfriends and fans. May God give them strength. May his soul rest in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gehlot said that Irrfan Khan was one of the most talented actors of Rajasthan who rose to heights on basis of his acting. He would always remain an inspiration for theatre artists and budding actors in Rajasthan, he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
