Jaipur: An underground parking will be built at Purana (Old) Aatish Market in the Walled City to ease the parking problem. The parking will be able to accommodate 400 vehicles including 250 four-wheelers. The parking space is being developed in the highly congested area under the Smart City Project, officials said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe parking will be three-storey \u2013 two of which will be\nunderground. The project is being funded under the Smart City Project, so there\nwill be no expense from the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC). The JMC will be\nresponsible for the development of the parking space. The decision to develop the\nparking project had been taken a few months ago, but we will now begin the\ntender process,\u201d said a JMC officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project is estimated to cost about Rs 15 crore. \u201cA\ntechnical bid will be issued on April 16 and once the financial tender process\nis completed the firm responsible to develop the project will have to complete\nit within 2 years,\u201d said the officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parking is a major issue in the Walled City. The officials\nsaid that the parking at New Aatish Market will help ease the pressure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
