Jaipur: Delhi police head constable Ratan Lal who was killed in violence over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on Monday had spoken to his 70-year-old mother over phone a couple of days before his death and promised to visit her during Holi vacations. Ratan Lal hailed from Tihawali village in Ramgarh area of Sikar district. His mother \u2013 Santara Devi \u2013 lost consciousness when the news of his death reached the village. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A family member said that Ratan Lal\u2019s younger brother Dinesh\nand his mother Santara Devi live in the native village. Ratan Lal\u2019s father\npassed away a couple of years ago. Ratan Lal is the eldest of three brothers. Dinesh\nis a farmer, while another brother Ramkant lives in Bangalore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ratan Lal joined Delhi police in 1998 as a constable and\nthen was promoted to head constable. He is survived by two daughters Siddhi (12)\nand Kanak, son Ram (7) and wife Poonam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cRatan Lal had spoken to his mother a couple of days ago and\npromised that he would visit her during Holi vacations. We came to know that he\nwas suffering from fever, but despite that he reported for duty and was killed\nduring the violence,\u201d said a villager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A cousin said that the government should declare Ratan Lal a\nmartyr and provide financial assistance to his family. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
