Jaipur: Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Monday arrested eight RTO officials and seven middlemen for allegedly extorting owners of commercial vehicles in the state. Those arrested include Gajendra Singh (DTO Chomu), Vinjay Bansal (DTO headquarters), Mahesh Sharma and RTO inspectors Shivcharan Meena, Udaiveer Singh, Alok Budhania, Naveen Jain and Ratan Lal. FIRs have been registered against them under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, DG ACB Alok Tripathi said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The officer said that on Monday, the ACB teams searched the\noffice of Tanushree Logistics where records of the exchange of money and Rs\n16.91 lakh were seized. The SUV belonging to one Syojilal Gadhwal, a resident of\nDudu, was also searched and documents suggesting exchange of bribes were recovered,\nsaid Tripathi adding that Gadhwal is currently on the run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ACB had on Sunday took into custody 15 people including\ntwo district transport officers and two inspectors of Regional Transport Office\n(RTO) in Jaipur and nearby areas and exposed a network of officials who in\nconnivance with some middlemen extorted money from commercial vehicle owners. A\ncash amount of over Rs 1.20 crore was seized. The ACB teams carried out\nsearches at more than two dozen places and also recovered property ownership\ndocuments and slips containing names of the middlemen and exchange of money\nwith them. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
