A cash amount of over Rs 1.20 crore was seized. The ACB teams carried out searches at more than two dozen places and also recovered property ownership documents and slips containing names of the middlemen and exchange of money with them. Sources said that several RTO officials are under the radar. In fact three RTO inspectors are on the run. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to DG ACB Alok Tripathi, the agency received complaints\nabout extortion by RTO officials through middlemen. A fixed amount of money is\ncollected by RTO inspects through middlemen every month. The money is handed\nover to the inspectors by middlemen on the 16<sup>th<\/sup> of every month. The money\nis then distributed to senior officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe verified the complaint and then laid a trap on February 16\nwhen the money was to be handed over to the RTO inspectors. We caught RTO\ninspector Udaiveer and a middlemen \u2013 one Manish Mishra \u2013 with Rs 40,000 bribe.\nRs 1.20 lakh was recovered from the middlemen. This money was to be distributed\nto other RTO officials,\u201d said Mishra. The ACB then took into custody seven\nofficials and six middlemen. Udaiveer and Manish were officially booked under\nvarious sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and arrested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ACB formed 18 teams under the supervision of ADG ACB Dinesh\nMN. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those taken into custody include Chomu DTO Vinay Bansal, DTO\nheadquarters Mahesh Sharma, and RTO inspectors in Jaipur Shivcharan Meena, Udaiveer\nSingh, Alok Budhania, Naveen Jain, Ratan Lal and Ganendra Singh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The middlemen who were taken into custody include Ranveer,\nPawan alias Pahalwan, Vishnu Kaushik, Jaswant Singh Yadav of Gold Line\nTransport, Vishnu Kumar of Tanushree Logistics, Mamta and Manish Mishra. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaipur: The Rajasthan anti-corruption bureau on Monday took into custody 15 people including two district transport officers and two inspectors of Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Jaipur and nearby areas and exposed a network of officials who in connivance with some middlemen extorted money from commercial vehicle owners.
