Jaipur: \u2018Bicycle on Rent \u2019 scheme launched under the Smart City Project proved unsuccessful in the city due to the apathy of the officials and JMC. A budget of Rs 1.10 crore was approved for setting up 20 bicycle sharing stands, but only two docking station were built. They too have been shut down. The bicycles in these docking stations have broken down due to the lack of maintenance and upkeep. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Bicycle on Rent scheme was launched nearly two years ago. The authorities built two docking stations \u2013 one at Jawahar Circle and another at Ramniwas Bagh (Garden). When the people go to these bicycle stands, they are found locked. Both stations accommodate 20 bicycles each. The bicycles are in a poor condition now as they have been withering weather due to the lack of upkeep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
