The accused was held from Mumbai International\nAirport before he could board a flight to Nigeria. The police officials said\nthat the man is a member of an international gang of cyber criminals and the\nefforts were on to nab others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The jewellery businessman lodged an FIR on December 16\nsaying that the email ID of an Italy-based firm was hacked by this gang. The gang\nmembers sent him fraudulent emails using that email ID. The businessman\ndeposited Rs 7.79 lakh in the bank accounts belonging to the gang members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe name of a local contact of the gang \u2013 Ritesh Kumar Gupta\n\u2013 came up. He was arrested from Haryana and remanded in judicial custody. An\ninvestigation was launched on the basis of mobile numbers and bank accounts retrieved\nfrom Ritesh,\u201d ADG SOG Anil Paliwal said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officer added that searches were carried out in\nJanakpuri, Badarpur and several places in Delhi in search of the Nigerian national\nwhen his role was confirmed in the investigation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe was aware of Ritesh\u2019s arrest, so he was trying to flee\nto Nigeria when he was arrested from the airport. He was brought to Jaipur and\nquizzed. He has confessed to his involvement in cyber frauds and has revealed\nthe identity of some other gang members.
