Jaipur: The\ninternet services snapped in Jaipur immediately after the Supreme Court verdict\nin Ayodhya case came out will continue till at least Monday morning. The police\nand administration will make an assessment of the law and order situation on\nMonday and decide whether to continue with the internet ban or allow the\nservices to resume. The internet ban has been imposed to prevent spread of rumors\non social media. The experts said that the ban has affected the business\ntransactions to the tune of Rs 200 crore in Jaipur alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Keeping in view\nthe possibility of the law and order situation, the Muslim community has\ndecided not to take out Barawafat processions on Monday. All the programs and\nfestivities have been cancelled by the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jaipur\ndivisional commissioner KC Verma ordered a ban on the internet services till 10\nam on Monday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will\nmake an assessment of the law and order situation by 8 am on Monday and decide\nwhether or not to continue with the ban. If any untoward incident happens, we\nmay decide to extend the ban,\u201d said a senior administration officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The businesses\nworst affected by the ban were cab companies. The bookings for Ola and Uber cabs\nand bikes came to a complete stop in the city. Ola and Uber runs nearly 7000\ncabs and 15,000 bikes in Jaipur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The police\nare also cracking down on people who are circulating communally sensitive posts\non social media. A man, identified as Keshav Arora \u2013 a resident of Shashtri\nNagar in Jaipur was arrested for sharing objectionable posts on WhatsApp. An\nFIR has been registered against him. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
