Jaipur: The Congress-backed National Student Union of India (NSUI) has suspended its six leaders for dissidence that led to the defeat of the organization in the Rajasthan University elections 2019. Those suspended include Mukesh Choudhary, Rajesh Choudhary, Abhishek Meena, Roop Singh Gujjar, former RU general secretary Manvendra Budania and Ram Singh Samota. Some of them had fought the election as NSUI rebels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
NSUI national secretary Gaurav Tushir told media persons that\nthe six student leaders had campaigned against NSUI candidates in the elections.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe NSUI leaders had been warned that a strict action would\nbe taken if any of them was found to be damaging the organization\u2019s prospects in\nthe election,\u201d said Tushir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NSUI had not won the post of president even once in the last\nfour years. The independent candidates \u2013 who are usually NSUI or ABVP rebels \u2013\nhave been elected for the top post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The NSUI had taken action against five of its student\nleaders last year also. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manvendra Budania said that he was surprised as to why he\nwas suspended. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI had won as an NSUI candidate. I was not having any responsibility\nthis year so I don\u2019t know why I have been suspended. I will go to Delhi and talk\nto NSUI leaders over this,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
