People\nwere seen bringing accident victims on scooters, bikes and in cars. The ambulances\ndidn\u2019t take patients to most government hospitals in the city including SMS Hospital,\nJaipuria, Satellite Hospital and Kanwatia Hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ambulances ferry over 250 patients \u2013 most of them accident\nvictims \u2013 government hospitals on a daily basis. The ambulance employees also\nprovide first-aid to the road accident victims. Due to the strike, the accident\nvictims didn\u2019t get any treatment on Thursday and were brought to hospitals by\ntheir family members in private vehicles. The family members said that they\nkept calling the ambulances but they didn\u2019t arrive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agitating employees parked the ambulances outside the\nstate assembly building on Janpath. They refused to budge before their demands\nwere met. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agitation began when the government recently issued\ntenders for the ambulances. In the tender advertisements, the salary and other\nperks for ambulance employees were not mentioned. They demanded that the salary\nand other perks should be specified for the attendant and the driver of the ambulances.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are not even sure that we would be able to keep our jobs,\u201d\nsaid an ambulance employee. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaipur: As the \u2018108\u2019 and \u2018104\u2019 ambulance employees went on a strike in Jaipur on Thursday, the patients and their wards are suffering.
