Jaipur: The voting for by-elections to Mandawa assembly\nconstituency of Jhunjhunu district and Khinwsar constituency of Nagaur district\ncame to an end at 6 pm. The voting percentage in Mandawa was 69.62% and it was 62.61% in Khinwsar. The voting went\noff peacefully in both the assembly constituencies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The counting of votes will take place on October 24. While\nRita Choudhary of Congress is pitted against Sushila Seegada of the BJP in\nMandawa, the fight in Khinwsar is between Harendra Mirdha of Congress and\nBJP-backed RLP candidate Narayan Beniwal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mandawa has always been a Congress stronghold. The BJP won\nonly once in 2018 where there was Narendra Modi wave in the country. BJP\ncandidate Sushila has been Pradhan for three consecutive terms. She was earlier\nwith the Congress, but switched to the BJP when she was denied a ticket. The\nchallenge before her to fight dissidence from the local BJP leader who consider\nher a parachute candidate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rita Choudhary of the Congress has fought assembly elections\nthrice from Mandawa constituency. She faced defeat twice. Some senior local\nCongress leadesr including Brijendra Ola and Rajkumar were not in the favour of\ngiving her ticket. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Narayan Beniwal of RLP in Khinwsar is the brother of Hanuman\nBeniwal. Harendra Mirdha of the Congress is fighting his last election. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are a total of 2,27,414 voters in Mandawa. Of them,\n1,17,742 are male voters, while 1,09,672 are female voters. The total number of\npolling stations is 259.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
