The new timing will be from 8 am to 12 pm. There will\nbe no elephant safari thereafter. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officials said that currently the elephants are being\nused for safaris throughout the day at Amber Fort as well as the Elephant\nVillage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe animals have no time for rest, so they become aggressive.\nWe have seen some instances of tourists getting hurt during elephant safaris. These\nincidents are few and far between, but they are definitely avoidable,\u201d said a\nforest department officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the elephant safari will not be allowed\nbetween 12 pm and 3 pm at Amber Fort and Elephant Village. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When tourists and tour agencies can\u2019t get an elephant safari\nat Amer Palace, they go to the Elephant Village and pay mahouts for a safari on\nthe village premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis practise should be discouraged. We have written to the\narchaeology department to check in on this practise on Amer Fort premises as it\nexhausts the elephants.
