Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has launched \u2018Jan Soochna\u2019\nportal that will enable people to get information from different government departments\nwithout having to submit an application under the Right to Information (RTI)\nAct. The portal has been in the works for the past two years. Chief minister Ashok\nGehlot unveiled it at Birla Auditorium on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The portal will provide information about departments\nrelated to public services. In the first phase, 13 government departments and\n23 schemes have been connected with the portal including free medicine, loan\nwaivers, short-term loans and mining allotments. The portal will soon cover\nother departments also. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief minister Ashok Gehlot said that the people won\u2019t need\nto file RTI applications and do rounds of government offices to get\ninformation. All sorts of information related to public dealing departments\nwill be available through \u2018Jan Soochna\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that it takes several days to get information under\nRTI, but the information will be available at a few clicks through this portal.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have an emotional connection to the conception of the\nright to information. We became the first state to implement \u2018\u2019Right to\nInformation\u2019 in the country,\u201d said Gehlot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gehlot said that while the Congress government is making\ngovernance accessible in the state, the Narendra Modi government is creating a\nsense of fear among people in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTwo people have resigned from IAS in the past 15 days. In\norder to make themselves heard, the government officials have to quit their\njobs in the Modi government era ,\u201d Gehlot said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot said that this portal\nwill bring transparency in the functioning of the government departments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
