Jaipur: NEET counselling 2019 for the admission in the government\nand private medical colleges in Rajasthan began on August 24 in compliance with\nthe Rajasthan high court orders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The number of\nstudents – participating in the mop-round \u2013 has increased by almost 60%. A\ntotal of 12,717 students are participating in the fresh mop-up round. Only 8092\nstudents were to participate in the previously cancelled mop-up round. The increase\nis due to the inclusion of upgradation and upward movement of seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rajasthan high court had earlier stayed the mop-up\nround. On Thursday, a single bench of the court vacated the stay and gave the\nstate government its nod to follow the decision taken by the board of governors\nof the medical council of India (MCI) in this regard. The court directed the state\ngovernment to complete the admission process by August 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIn this round, 11210 students from Rajasthan and 1507\nstudents from other states are participating. If any seats meant for Rajasthan\ncandidates remain vacant, they will be filled with the students from other\nstates,\u201d said an official. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some candidates had approached the high court seeking stay\non the mop-up round. They stated in their petition some discrepancies in the counselling\nfor MBBS and BDS seats in medical colleges will lead to meritorious students\nnot getting seats in top medical colleges as per merit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The court ordered a stay and asked the NEET board not to go\nahead with the revised mop-up round proposed on August 17 and 18 but to hold a\nsecond round extension on August 19.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
