He was accompanied by\nchief minister Ashok Gehlot, deputy CM Sachin Pilot and Rajasthan incharge\nAvinash Pandey at the time of filing the nomination. &nbsp;The by-election for Rajya Sabha seat from\nRajasthan are being held after the seat fell vacant following the demise of\nformer BJP state president Madan Lal Saini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Congress is confident of Manmohan Singh\u2019s victory as it\nhas majority in the state assembly and claims support of over 120 MLAs of not\nonly its own party, but also those of BSP and some independents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The BJP is yet to announce its candidate for the Rajya Sabha\nby-election from Rajasthan. The BJP has 72 MLAs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chief minister Gehlot and Deputy CM Pilot received him at\nthe Jaipur International Airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr Manmohan Singh was the Rajya Sabha member from Assam, but\nhis term ended in June this year.
