Jaipur: The Rajasthan Roadways will operate 50 buses between Jaipur and Delhi.\nThe decision was taken after a successful trial of the bus on Friday. Senior\nRajasthan Roadways officials including MD Suchi Sharma travelled in the bus.\nThey said that the buses will be operational within the next three months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe will soon issue tenders. This will be for the first time in the county\nthat electric buses will be run between two cities. The first election bus will\nbe operational between Delhi and Jaipur. About 80 Volvo buses are plying between\nthese two destinations as of now. The electric buses will be in addition to\nthese Volvo buses,\u201d said a senior Rajasthan Roadways officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rajasthan Roadways will save on fuel, while the electric buses won\u2019t\ncause any pollution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The electric buses will be part of city transport also. Nearly 100 electric\nbuses will run on various routes in the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe bus will be equipped with two batteries. Each fully-charged battery\nwill be enough to run the buses for 200 km. On the routes, we will set up\nbattery charges in the depos so that the batteries could be charged,\u201d said an\nofficer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Electric buses are currently plying in Delhi, UP and Himachal Pradesh.\nRajasthan will be the fourth state to use electric buses for public transport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
