Jaipur: Waking up from slumber after two tragic accidents on\nJLN Marg, the traffic police on Monday night seized as many as 88 vehicles\nincluding cars and bikes. The drivers of these vehicles were found under the\ninfluence of alcohol. The drivers were booked under relevant sections of MV\nAct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to DCP, traffic Rahul Prakash, the traffic police\nhas launched a campaign against traffic violators. Four traffic police teams\nchecked vehicles on JLN Marg from 11 pm to 1,30 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWe seized 50 cars, 30 bikes and eight other vehicles for\ndrunken driving. Most of the vehicles are luxury cars,\u201d said DCP Rahul Prakash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the drive against drunken driving will\ncontinue. \u201cWe will check vehicles on JLN Marg on a regular basis during nights.\nMany people leave bars and pubs under the influence of alcohol and instead of taking\ncabs, they are on the wheels endangering lives of innocent vehicles,\u201d said the\npolice officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said that the drive will be launched seven days a week. \u201cOnce\na week, there would be at least 10 traffic police teams to check vehicles. We\nwill keep changing the traffic points where these teams will be deputed so that\nthe vehicle owners can\u2019t predict where they will be stopped by us,\u201d said the\nofficer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The high court had sought explanation from the state government\nas to what measures are being taken to stop road accidents on JLN Marg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On July 16, three people were killed while three others were\ninjured when an overspeeding car went out of control at the traffic junction at\nJDA Circle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
