Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has ordered an administrative\nenquiry into the death of Sariska tiger ST \u2013 16. The tiger had died after being\ntranquilized. There are reports that the Sariska tiger reserve administration\nis trying to cover up the negligence by claiming that the tiger\u2019s death was\ncaused by a heat stroke. The administrative committee will probe if the tiger\ndied of the overdose of tranquilizing agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The high-level probe committee will be headed by principal secretary,\ncooperative department Abhay Kumar. CM Gehlot tweeted that the death of the tiger\nwas a serious matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gehlot asked the officials to launched an unbiased probe and determine if\nany negligence was involved. He said that the officials responsible for the negligence\nshould be held liable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident took place on June 8. ST-16 was wounded, so a forest department\nteam tranquilized him for treatment. He didn\u2019t gain consciousness. The forest\ndepartment declared him dead and later claimed that the death was caused by\nheat stroke. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A team of doctors from Bareilly, Dehradun and Bikaner conducted a postmortem\nexamination of the Sariska tiger ST \u2013 16\u2019s body. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The wildlife activists however alleged that it was attempt to cover up the\nnegligence of the team involved in tranquilization. An overdose of\ntranquilizing agents was responsible for the big cat\u2019s death. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
