DGP Kapil Garg will retire on\nJune 30. The two who are the strong candidates to replace Garg are Bhupendra\nSingh Yadav and Alok Tripathi. While there are reports that Bhupendra Singh will\nlikely be appointed on a constitutional post, Alok Tripathi who is currently\nposted in ACB will likely be appointed the next DGP of Rajasthan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be six director generals in the state after the\nretirement of Kapil Garg from the service on June 30. They are Bhupendra Yadav,\nAlok Tripathi, OP Galhotra, NRK Reddy, ML Lathar and Rajeev Dasot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Galhotra is currently DG home guard. There are reports that Reddy will go on a deputation. Alok Tripathi is the senior most IPS officer if Gehlotra and Reddy are not picked for the top post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 1983-batch IPS officer, Garg was appointed DGP, Rajasthan after the Congress government came to power. He was the chairman of Police Housing and construction Corporation during the Vasundhara Raje government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources said that the state government didn\u2019t send the names\nof senior most IPS officers to UPSC to form a penal. As per the Supreme Court\norders, the government is supposed to select the DGP from the panel of senior\nmost IPS officers. The DGP should minimum tenure of two years, according to Rajasthan\nPolice Act\u2019s Section 13 (3), the DGP shall have \u201cminimum tenure of two years\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jaipur: Six senior IPS officers are in the race for the coveted director general of police (DGP) post.
