Jaipur: The Rajasthan housing board will sell its homes at steep discounts \u2013 up to 50 percent – after failing to get them off its hands for years. These homes have remained on the market for a long time. The homes will be sold through e-auction. The discount will be 10% initially, but if it doesn\u2019t attract buyers, it will be increased up to 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rajasthan housing board decided to conduct online sale\nof its home to enable people to buy from anywhere in the world. The buyers can\nfind all the housing board home listings on its website. The housing board\nproperties and homes will be connected with GIS mapping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The board accepted bids from potential buyers in closed\nenvelops until now, but has decided to go online to target a larger pool of\nbuyers and to make the buying process hassle-free. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cGIS mapping enable buyers to see all the listings in real\ntime and also go on a virtual tour of the neighbours where the properties are\nlocated,\u201d said a senior housing board official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by urban\ndevelopment minister Shanti Dhariwal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe e-auction process will begin within the next three\nmonths. We will discontinue the practice of accepting bids in closed envelops.\nWe have made the records of more than 1.6 lakh properties already allotted online,\u201d\nsaid the officer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
