It\ntook seven fire tenders nearly half an hour to douse the fire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OT &#8211; 2 is situated on the third floor of the hospital building. The entire ward was filled with smoke, hampering the rescue operation. The administration snapped the power supply to the ward. Senior hospital administration officials including superintendent DS Meena reached the spot to oversee the rescue operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A fireman was injured when a glass panel fell on his hand\nwhile he was trying to douse the fire. The fireman, identified as Kamal, was\nadmitted to hospital for treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no one in the OT room. \u201cThere was just some\ngarbage and old clothes there. They were destroyed. No harm to anyone was\ncaused by the fire. What triggered the fire is still under investigation,\u201d said\na senior hospital administration officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sources said that the building where fire broke out don\u2019t\nhave fire NOC from JMC. It didn\u2019t proper fire safety equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/fire-at-medical-lifeline-store-in-sms-hospital-under-scanner\/\">major\nfire had broken out<\/a> at the medical lifeline store killing a woman patient\nlast month. The store was being probed for the alleged corruption in the sale\nof medicines meant for Below Poverty Line (BPL) patients at discounted price.\nRecently, a SMS Hospital administration committee had probed whether these\nmedicines were sold to normal patients at regular prices illegally.
