The project will be shelved by the Congress government. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The transport minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas told media persons that there were irregularities in the tender process. After the tenders were issued in the previous BJP government, the company which was awarded the work didn\u2019t invest anything. Despite that, the company will be paid Rs 250 per trial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirteen automated driving tracks were to be introduced\nacross the state including RTO Jagatpura. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPaying that much amount of money per trial doesn\u2019t make\nsense when the company has made no investments. We will shelve the project for\nnow,\u201d said Khachariawas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the people are already being made to pay Rs\n1350 as license fee, so the government can\u2019t add Rs 250 to the existing fee. It\nwill be an unnecessary financial burden on driving license applicants. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere had been irregularities in the tender process, so we\ncan\u2019t continue with it,\u201d said the minister. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The RTO Jagatpura had used the tracks on a trial basis, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinkcitypost.com\/rto-stops-license-trials-on-automated-driving-track-due-to-lapses\/\">stopped\nthe trials<\/a> when the majority of the driving license applicants \u2013 almost 85%\n\u2013 failed to pass the test. Of the 80 people who gave trial on the track, 68\nwere declared not fit for license. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These people complained that they were declared unfit for\nlicense even on account of small mistakes. These people will need to pay the\ntest free \u2013 Rs 300 \u2013 again and go through the trial again in a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicants go through four phases of the trial. In the\nfirst phase, they have to park the vehicle parallel and in an angular angle in\n30 seconds. In the second phase, they need to drive forward and in reserve on\nan 8-shaped track in just 30 seconds. In the third phase, they get 70 seconds\nto drive on an H-shaped track while following all the traffic rules. In the\nfourth phase, the applicant needs to drive on an elated track with a height of\nup to 5 feet. If the driver couldn\u2019t control the vehicle for 20 seconds, the sensors\nwill go off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cameras automatically record the mistakes made by an\napplicant.
