Jaipur: Facing embarrassment after a video of a young woman\nbeing raped by five men in the presence of her husband in Thanagazi area of\nAlwar district went viral, the state police have formed 14 teams to nab the\nsuspects. The incident happened on April 26, but the cops hushed it up, apparently\nto avoid any fuss during the voting for Lok Sabha elections. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
DGP Rajasthan Kapil Garg held a press conference in Jaipur\nand said that a massive hunt has been launched for the five accused men. Some\nsuspects have been rounded up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The matter was highlighted by the media after the horrifying\nvideo showing the five men bullying the couple and then raping the woman went\nviral on social media channels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It came up that the victims had approached the Alwar SP Rajeev\nPanchar who assured them of swift action and formed a team of the local police\nto nab the accused men. But the policemen didn\u2019t disclose the details to the\nmedia fearing backlash during the voting, said sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim and her family members are in a state of shock\nand have demanded police protection as some of the suspects are known\ncriminals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident happened on April 26 when the victim was on her\nway home with her husband on thanagazi-Alwar bypass. Five youths on two bikes\nintercepted the husband\u2019s bike and took them to an nearby isolated area. The youths\nwere in their mid 20s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They beat up the husband and then tied him up. The five men\ngang raped the woman. The victim told the police that the accused men were\naddressing each \u2013 other with names including Chhote Lal alias Sachin, Jitu and\nAshok. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThey made a video of the gang rape and made it viral on\nWhatsApp and other social media platforms. They threatened the victim that they\nwould murder her husband if she told anyone about the incident,\u201d said a police\nofficer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The woman was scared and didn\u2019t approach the police for five\ndays. She finally registered a complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
